Lillehammer Troll Ski Marathon is being arranged
April 18th 2009. It is the the 15th time. It is a cooperation
between four local ski-clubs: these are Ringebu-Fåvang Skiklubb,
Øyer-Tretten IF, Søre Ål IL and Mesnali Skilag.
The race is in classic style. The classes are divided like this:
- 95 km: junior
classes and 5 years intervals
- 70 km: junior
classes and 10 years intervals
- 45 km: 15-16
years, junior classes, 10 years intervals
- 20 km: 15-16
years and separate classes for men and women.
The "Trim"-class
starts the last hour before
ordinary start.
No registration of time.
All participants in this class are automatically entered into a prize
raffle.
The arrangement takes place according to NSF's (Norwegian Ski
Association) rules. There will be additional rules mentioned in the
invitation flyer and also in the confirmation that will be sent after
payment. Under special circumstances the race can be cancelled or
delayed. In that case a part of the starting money will be withheld to
cover expences.
Trasé
The track follows the Troll-Løypa
(Løype = trail) from Venabygdsfjellet to Sjusjøen. The altitude varies
from a maximum of 1050m to a minimum of 850m above sea level. The first
25 km of the race are in open mountains to Øksendalen where the 70 km
starts. Then the track descends into more forested areas for the 25 km
to Goppollen where the 45 km starts. Then it passes typical summer farm
& pastures for another 25 km to Øyer fjellstue where the 20km
starts. The last 20 km passes Pellestova and Nordseter on the way to the
finish line at Sjusjøen. The Troll-Løypa is marked and
machine-prepared with tracks from the beginning of February.
You get the startnumbers where you start the same day.
The
race-office is open 2 hours before ordinary start.
Those who participate for the 95 km
can get the startnumber at Venabu Fjellhotell kl. 18.00-21.00 the night before the race.
Skiers who arrive after the time limit must leave the race.
Skiers that have to
leave the race due to time-limit, will receive free transportation by car to the finish at
Sjusjøen.
The race will have 12 drink stations. At 4 of these food will also be
available.
The race goes in a mountainous
area, and security and service are important. All participants must
carry a sack with food, something to drink and warm clothing.
Remember sunglasses and ski-wax. There
will be a
snow-scooter
behind the last skier in the race. First aid personel is stationed
at
least on 3 places by the track.
There will be showers and changing facilities for all skiers after
arrival at Sjusjøen.
A hot meal at Sjusjøen
høyfjellshotel will be included for all 95km, 70km and 45 km competitors.
There is parking
facilities at the start and finish areas. We arrange the transportation
to start and from the finish area, but you must order transportation on
your registration.
