About the race

Lillehammer Troll Ski Marathon is being arranged April 18th 2009. It is the the 15th time. It is a cooperation between four local ski-clubs: these are Ringebu-Fåvang Skiklubb, Øyer-Tretten IF, Søre Ål IL and Mesnali Skilag.

The race is in classic style. The classes are divided like this:

- 95 km: junior classes and 5 years intervals
- 70 km: junior classes and 10 years intervals
- 45 km: 15-16 years, junior classes, 10 years intervals
- 20 km: 15-16 years and separate classes for men and women.

The "Trim"-class starts the last hour before ordinary start. No registration of time. All participants in this class are automatically entered into a prize raffle.

The arrangement takes place according to NSF's (Norwegian Ski Association) rules. There will be additional rules mentioned in the invitation flyer and also in the confirmation that will be sent after payment. Under special circumstances the race can be cancelled or delayed. In that case a part of the starting money will be withheld to cover expences.

Trasé

The track follows the Troll-Løypa (Løype = trail) from Venabygdsfjellet to Sjusjøen. The altitude varies from a maximum of 1050m to a minimum of 850m above sea level. The first 25 km of the race are in open mountains to Øksendalen where the 70 km starts. Then the track descends into more forested areas for the 25 km to Goppollen where the 45 km starts. Then it passes typical summer farm & pastures for another 25 km to Øyer fjellstue where the 20km starts. The last 20 km passes Pellestova and Nordseter on the way to the finish line at Sjusjøen. The Troll-Løypa is marked and machine-prepared with tracks from the beginning of February.
